This week on Tuesday we presented our progress from week 4 to our mentors, because of a tight deadline we weren't able to get too much feedback but we were able to get a couple of tips on tracking and some useful gizmos and websites...
- A 1.3 camera solve is sometimes better than a .7 if we are getting more tracking sssssssssss data
- Stabilize the shot first then apply the match move.
- hdrmaps.com is a good place to find hdris and sky maps
- Contact sheet gizmo for showing different render passes for presenting
This week I began testing the Day to Night conversions on different shots. I have been skipping between shots to test conditions for one shot on the other so as I am creating them I can create a conversion that is consistent through all of the shots.
Shot Progress
*all shots are still works in progress*
Shot 7:
Shot 7 is our final shot. I began working on the day to night on this shot currently I am trying to balance the blues and the greens and figure out how to fix the ultra-bright highlights after the pan upwards. We are planning on adding a bird effect to cover the screen in the fade out so I am trying to create that before I do too much work at the top because some will be covered by the birds.

Shot 6:
For shot 6 there were some ultra-bright highlights on the ground that were making the day-to-night less believable so I roto-painted them out and tracked the paint patch in, luckily I was able to get a good stabilized track with no shakes for this which made the process a lot easier.
Here is my progress for the day-to-night transition so far I am working on trying to match shots 6 and 7 before I move on to more shots as well as tracking the scar onto her back.

We also plan on incorporating moon rays much like these references...
neat Video:
This week I also was able to use the neat video plugin on Professor Gaynor's computer to denoise our plates that are going to have CG integrated into them. After we are finished the comp we will use the DasGrain nuke plugin to reput our grain on the plate and CG so that it all matches.
