SCAD x Powerhouse

Following our pitches, on Tuesday we were given instructions to narrow in on our story and to add some context and foreshadowing to our storyboard. I made a more detailed animated storyboard to tell our story better.
An overview of our plot is that we open up on ominous shots of the woods and a path you can hear cicadas, crickets, and birds cawing in the background and the camera begins to slowly travel up the path where it then cuts to a pair of feet walking through tall grass slowly then a shot of the moon composited with the silhouette of cawing birds circling in the sky we then cut to our actress arriving to a dilapidated house in the woods and looking behind her as if to make sure nobody is following her you can see scars on her back and on her face. We then cut to a close-up of the face where feathers begin to emerge from the scars she blinks and her eyes turn into orange bird eyes we then cut to a wide shot of her making her final transformation into a bird the camera pans up and a flock of birds flies across the screen as its fading to black to indicate she fully turned into a bird.
Based on suggestions and ideas I heard from our mentors regarding the face feathers, they suggested we add scars and bumps to the skin to indicate different stages of the skin's transformation and indicate it has happened before.

To achieve this effect we plan on using facial tracking with keen and using a combination of digital matte painting and 3d models to create the metal feathers. To make the growing effect on the feathers I plan on completing it procedurally in Houdini
On Sunday our team headed to Skidaway Island to film. We filmed all of our shots and variations of the shots so we have options with lighting and compositions. Because we had to film during the daytime we plan on integrating a mood change through color correcting and sky replacements.
Our Technical Pipeline manager Elise created our pipeline flowchart to demonstrate the technical workflow that we will be following as we complete each of our individual tasks.
